SAN FRANCISCO: Microsoft has alerted a number of its web mail users of hacker attacks that are possible which may access their email accounts , media reports said.
In an email telling for some affected users on Saturday, Microsoft said it became aware of a concern involving unauthorised access to your customers' web-based email accounts by cybercriminals.
"We've understood a Microsoft support broker's credentials were endangered, enabling individuals out Microsoft to gain access to information within your Microsoft support phone number email account between January 1 and March 28," Xinhua quoted Microsoft as saying in the email.
The unauthorised access could have let UN authorised parties to view or access information of Microsoft email user account, such as email , folder names, and the subject lines of mails, it also said.
But the software giant said this information of attached documents to mails wouldn't be viewed or
read, also it didn't specify just how many users of its Outlook.com email service were changed.
"Microsoft regrets any inconvenience caused by this issue," said the provider, advocating that influenced users reset their login passwords.
The organization promised its users which it has instantly disabled the endangered credentials to forbid their usage for any further unauthorised access.
Microsoft has offered contact information to its data protection officer to assist possible hacking sufferers to protect their email account.
